About this piece
A box-chain anklet is a plain payal made from square links that sit flush end to end, so it reads as one clean silver line with nothing hanging off it. This one is certified 925 sterling silver in a fine 1.2 mm box link, about 3.1 g, adjustable 9 to 11 inches. It is left high-polished rather than rhodium plated — bare sterling, which warms to a soft patina if you let it and polishes back in two minutes if you do not.
Specifications
How to wear
Wear it on its own under jeans or trousers, or stack it beside a heavier payal on the same ankle — a fine box link is the one that sits quietly next to a chunkier chain instead of competing with it. Because it is unplated, expect it to go slightly warm-grey over a few months of daily wear; the polishing cloth in the box brings it straight back. Keep it out of the pool, chlorine dulls bare sterling faster than anything else.
Frequently asked
Why is this anklet not rhodium plated like your others?
Because some buyers specifically want bare sterling. Rhodium keeps silver bright for longer, but it is a coating, and on a chain this fine it eventually wears through at the friction points and leaves a patchy line. Unplated 925 dulls evenly instead and comes back with a cloth. If you would rather never polish anything, buy our rhodium-finished curb-link daily-wear pair.
Is 3.1 g strong enough for daily wear?
For a fine anklet, yes. A 1.2 mm box link is stiffer and tighter than a cable chain of the same weight, which is why we use that build at this gram count. Below roughly 2.5 g we will not sell an adult anklet at all — the clasp end gives way first. The grams are printed on the certificate so you can compare this against anything else you are looking at.
Is this real 925 sterling silver?
Yes. Every anokhi piece is solid 925 sterling silver (92.5% pure), BIS hallmarked for 925 purity where applicable, and ships with a certificate of authenticity — never silver-plated or German silver.
Will it tarnish, and how do I care for it?
Pieces carry an anti-tarnish finish. Wipe with the included cloth, avoid perfume/water contact, and store dry in the pouch between wears to keep them bright for years.
What are the shipping, COD and return terms?
Free shipping above ₹999, cash on delivery pan-India, and 7-day easy returns on unused, hallmarked items in original packaging. Authenticity issues are refunded in full.
