An evil-eye anklet (nazar payal) carries the blue-and-white eye motif or a run of black beads around the ankle, a protective custom followed across India for women and traditionally for babies. anokhi makes them in certified 925 sterling silver: hand-set enamel eyes on fine rhodium chains, black-bead payal on sterling links, and black-thread styles with silver charms. The silver parts — chain, setting, clasp and charms — are genuine hallmarked 925 with the gram weight stated. The eye itself is enamel and the black beads are glass, and we label them as enamel and glass rather than calling them stones. We sell these as jewellery and as a customary gift, and make no protective, healing or astrological claims.

Is the eye a stone or is it silver?
Neither. The chain, jump rings, clasp and charm frame are 925 sterling silver, BIS hallmarked. The blue-and-white eye is hand-set enamel and the black beads are glass — that is how nazariya work is traditionally made, and we would rather name the materials than let a listing imply a gemstone.
Why black beads on an anklet?
Black beads (kala dhaga, kaala moti) are the same customary nazar-protection idea as the eye motif, and are given to babies as often as to adults. They are strung between sterling links here rather than on thread, so the anklet does not fray.
Does anokhi claim the evil eye works?
No. It is a long-standing cultural custom and we sell it as jewellery and as a meaningful gift. We make no protective, spiritual, health or astrological claims for any piece we sell.
Is there a baby version?
