Bridal & Festive Silver Payal
Heavier 925 dulhan payal with ghungroo — honest about the grams.
Bridal payal (dulhan payal) are the heavier, ghungroo-lined anklets worn for weddings and festive occasions, traditionally bought by weight rather than by design name. anokhi's bridal range is certified 925 sterling silver in the 15–25 gram band per pair — substantial enough to sit properly and chime, and deliberately lighter than the 80–100 gram traditional pieces that run well past ₹15,000. Every pair states its exact gram weight, is BIS hallmarked, and is priced as (silver weight × the day's 925 rate) + a stated making charge, so you can check the arithmetic against our live payal price calculator before you buy rather than after.
About bridal & festive silver payal
How heavy should a bridal silver payal be?
Traditional dulhan payal run 80–100 g the pair and cost upward of ₹15,000 in silver alone. Ours sit at 15–25 g — visibly substantial, comfortable for a full wedding day, and honest about being a modern bridal piece rather than a heirloom-weight one. If you specifically want a 100 g pair, we would rather tell you we do not make it than sell you 20 g and call it heavy.
Why does the price change with the silver rate?
Because silver jewellery is (weight × the day's 925 rate) + a making charge, and the metal is most of the bill on a heavy piece. We publish the gram weight on every listing and run a live payal price calculator, so the number is checkable rather than a round figure you have to take on trust.
Does the ghungroo make noise all day?
Yes, that is the point of ghungroo — but the volume depends on bell size and count. Our bridal pairs use small closed bells in five rows, which gives a soft continuous chime rather than a clatter. The daily-wear collection is the silent option.
Can I wear bridal payal with bichiya?
Yes, and it is the traditional pairing. Our payal-with-bichiya set ships two anklets and two matching adjustable toe rings in one box, in the same 925 silver and the same finish, so nothing is approximated across two purchases.
